A multi-cultural celebration for Amy & Steve!
#t2sce Event Recap 05/23/2015
As overwhelming as planning a wedding celebration is, add in the fact that you’re planning from out of state. Then add to that, you’re fiancé is out of THAT state, too. Those were the challenges for Amy in Maryland, and Steve in Arizona, as they focused back to New Jersey!
It all came together at the Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman, NJ. And what a celebration it was! Their 140 guests also spanned the region, but they made the journey here to watch these two beautiful people say, “I do!”
Geography isn’t as much of an obstacle thanks to the power of the Internet. Amy & Steve actually found me via online search, and as they explored SCE Event Group, realized that we have a stellar reputation! I wasn’t surprised, seeing how we’ve got so many reviews and videos online that our past Brides & Grooms really do all our talking.
We set up a conference chat back in January, and I immediately felt like we’d work well together. The ease of conversation, a few laughs, and really just “getting to know each other” a little bit would certainly lead to our collaboration. And it did … quite well! One thing in particular Steve said to me really hit home: “Tony, I have to tell you that your online reputation is just stellar!” He went on to let me know what great things past Brides and Grooms had to say about the process of planning their wedding celebration together, and the service we provide. That really hit home, because you rarely get to actually hear that part.
Their celebration started with Ceremony on the patio (with amazing weather, by the way), and continued with a String Quartet for their Cocktail Hour. Once we opened the doors for reception, I could immediately feel the warmth in the room. Both families were just completely excited to be there for this couple. I used Intelligent Lighting to accent their introductions, First Dance, and toasts. My favorite part might’ve actually been when Amy’s Dad thanked me several times on the mic! Just awesome.
Music programming for this event was fairly open, though they had a few unusual songs they wanted to hear. I found a way to work in Imagine Dragons during dinner, while playing Stevie’s “Sir Duke” as a fun opener. Amy’s background is Egyptian, so the challenge: work in these 3 Arabic songs to embrace her culture, while simultaneously not losing a mainstream dance floor.
Accepted. And DONE!
And it was awesome.
My sincere thanks to these two beautiful people and warm families. Thank you for making me feel like an important part of the day, and for allowing me the creative freedom to bring this celebration together.
If you think we could be right for each other, I’d love the opportunity to chat more about your once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Please reach out to the SCE Event Group Headquarters or send me an email. Also, check out hundreds of real Brides’ & Grooms’ reviews at SCEbuzz.com.
