Another incredible event came together as paths with an old friend crossed again.

Hugo, the Groom, is an acquaintance of mine that spans quite a bit of time.  We were involved in many different facets of the nightlife industry all those years ago, and occasionally produced events together.  We’d fallen off each other’s radar to some extent … so I thought — apparently until Hugo got engaged!  It was pretty amazing to get that call (maybe it was a Facebook note ;o)

“I’m getting married.  You’re the one to do this.”

Supreme compliment.  It’s always a huge compliment when anyone trusts you with their once-in-a-lifetime celebration, but add to that the events these people are known for producing and … well, you get the idea.  “Yeah, no pressure.”

Amanda Camp-Colon and Hugo Esteves chose the beautiful and super-contemporary Gramercy at Lakeside Manor in Hazlet, NJ.  This venue has been remodeled and refreshed with a gorgeous marble foyer, curved staircase, and new decor all around– perfect choice for these two.  We discussed so many incredible options for their guests’ entertainment, and when it all came together … nothing but WOW all around!

The music program was crafted with emphasis on being fun, yet cool.  I incorporated a lot of music that represented their ethnic backgrounds and reflected the diversity in their guest list.  Hugo knew that the bottom line was mixing everything flawlessly and keeping that dance floor packed!  I’m so happy that everything came together as I mixed everything from Reggae & Soca to House Music, from Portuguese Traditional to Salsa & Merengue !

Here’s a quick recap of the services we provided for Amanda & Hugo’s  event:

  • Expanded sound system for 300 guests
  • Intelligent Dance Floor Lighting Design, 4 Intelligent Fixtures
  • Cocktail Hour Music Production: live musician, Steel Drummer
  • Ceremony Production on the beach: live string trio
  • Extended reception
  • Custom Audio: wedding song choreography edit
  • Dancing Under The Stars
  • Dancing on the Clouds
  • Multimedia Video Production, including Love Story Montage
  • Snapshot Photo Booth

Thanks to the awesome team I had who helped execute this huge event to perfection (their video-bomb on my vLog intro below alone is worth watching!).  And special thanks to Syed Raza at The Gramercy who runs an awesome event while smiling the whole way.  He’s always an absolute pleasure to work with and extremely flexible.

Thanks so much to these awesome families for allowing me and SCE Event Group to take part in this day.
Hope you’ll watch the brief video.  Please comment and share!
